One of my favourite pictures ever, the love they had for each other is just shining through this capture. |
Ode To Tyson
Your life began so hard, you poor little pup. I still remember when you arrived home with JJ, you were terrified, scarred and would not go near any men, you only seemed to trust in me and hid behind my legs when anyone approached you. You were abused so badly and I'm so glad that JJ managed to rescue you and that we were able to give you a loving home. You got better in time, we had to retrain you not to be vicious to the cats, your bandy legs got stronger and you were happy, leaping and running around the fields with Ali, your fellow boxer companion.
When my baby boy was born you seemed to be very protective of him. You liked to play with him in the garden and follow him around. It was so adorable to watch you two together and some of my favourite photos I ever captured are of the two of you together. You were such a gentle dog and it warmed my heart to see you and Tyler Lee become best buds.
When Ali was gone you found another companion in Tilly, another fellow boxer for you to play with, although I think her puppy self may have been too energetic for you, yet you tried to keep up. I find it so saddening that she found you, barking for mam to let her know that you had died, up on the driveway in the pouring rain. Such a sad end for our loving dog, the pathetic fallacy of the weather being too hard to ignore.
Thank you for coming into our lives Tysy Wysy, for letting us love you and being part of our family for eight fantastic years. Now fly to Rainbow Bridge Boy, until we get to hug you again one day...
Rainbow Bridge
Just this
side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been
especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are
meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play
together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm
and comfortable.
All the
animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who
were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them
in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content,
except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who
had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but
the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright
eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the
group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and
faster.
You have been spotted, and when you
and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion,
never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands
again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of
your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent...

ReplyDeleteI'm so very sorry for your loss. I have a beautiful ginger tomcat I've had since he was 5 weeks old and he is my shadow and my best friend.
