Finding The Gold At The End Of The Rainbow ♥

Today we went in search of a field of gold, and we didn't find just one, but two gorgeous golden fields of beautiful blooms. I was just itching to get out with my camera and capture the sea of yellow, having spotted the fields from my parents kitchen window, before the farmers spray it and it turns to black - quite less appealing to a photographers eye I'm sure you'll agree! I really love the pictures I captured of my son, his rainbow t-shirt really was perfect for finding the gold at the end of the rainbow - never say we don't dress accordingly for our adventures!

In the second field there were splashes of purple dotted amongst the yellow and it really was beautiful to see, along with the sunlight, it gave me the perfect sense of summer and now all I long for is the warmth of the summer sun. However, in the second field we were startled by two shots that sounded like gunshots, I thought they may have been a crow banger but they were so loud and in such quick succession too - perhaps the farmer wasn't pleased with our admiration of his stunning fields of gold? Sorry Mr. Farmer, we really didn't mean any harm!

Nevertheless, it was such a lovely little adventure and the perfect way to begin our Irish summer, now that the rain has finally stopped, for now.

Now we can say we finally found the gold at the end of the rainbow, the most precious gold for me, of course, being those beautiful curls on my little loves head.

  21. Finding fields of flowers is always fantastic. I remember on one family vacation, we drove by a field of sunflowers in full bloom. It was similarly overwhelming ...very yellow, very vast, and something we just had to stop to photograph. Looks like your little guy had a blast!
